FAQs

Should I have my soft furnishings treated with fabric protector after cleaning?

It’s certainly worth considering. Fabric protection creates an invisible barrier around the fibres, helping to reduce the amount of dirt that becomes embedded and giving you more time to deal with spills before they become stubborn stains. It can also make everyday maintenance and vacuuming more effective.

For busy households, families and pet owners, it’s a simple way to give freshly cleaned carpets and upholstery some extra protection.

Does furniture need to be cleared out of the room?

No, there’s no need to move the furniture yourself. We’ll move suitable items as needed so we can clean underneath them properly. We just ask that you clear away small, loose items such as toys, bins and anything else that’s easy to move beforehand.

Where necessary, we’ll use protective tabs beneath furniture legs to help prevent moisture-related marks or rust staining while the carpet dries.

How much does it cost?

Every job is different, so we don’t believe in a rigid one-size-fits-all price list. The cost will depend on what we’re cleaning, the size of the area and the work involved.

Just get in touch and tell us a little about what you need cleaning. We’ll be happy to talk through your requirements and give you a clear idea of the cost.

How can I pay?

We’re happy to accept cash, cheque, bank transfer or card payment — whichever is most convenient for you.

Is a DIY carpet cleaning machine a good idea?

DIY carpet cleaning machines can have their uses, particularly for a quick interim clean or dealing with a small spill. However, they don’t offer the same level of power, extraction or specialist knowledge as professional carpet cleaning.

One of the biggest risks is over-wetting the carpet. If too much moisture is left behind, it can lead to slow drying, unpleasant odours and, with some carpets, shrinkage or other damage. The cleaning products supplied with rental machines also tend to be designed for general use rather than tailored to the individual carpet.

For a thorough professional clean, experience matters just as much as the equipment. We know how different carpets respond to moisture, products and cleaning methods, allowing us to choose the right approach for the job.

Can you deal with flood-damaged carpets?

Yes, we can help with flood-damaged carpets. It’s not simply a case of removing the visible water, as moisture can also reach the underlay and flooring beneath.

Depending on the circumstances, the process can involve water extraction, specialist drying equipment, followed by professional carpet cleaning and sanitisation. Acting quickly can help minimise the risk of lingering moisture, odours and other problems.

Do you clean curtains and blinds?

Curtain and blind cleaning isn’t a service we currently offer. Although some curtains and blinds can be cleaned in situ, we prefer to leave this specialist work to companies equipped specifically for it.

If you’re giving the house a proper spring clean, though, we’d be very happy to help with your carpets, rugs and upholstery!
